My Journey Began

I started my RevOps journey in one of the most complex instances of Salesforce I have ever worked on.

When I started the position, the organization had not had a Salesforce subject matter expert on staff in 5 months. They had been on Salesforce since 2013 (8 years), leveraging Sales, Service, and Experience Clouds, as well as Salesforce CPQ. In addition, they had fully integrated Marketo for top-of-funnel, SalesLoft for Sales Development team, JIRA for Tier 3 customer support, and Sage Intact accounting software for contract and subscription management. Finally, they conducted the majority of their business’s downstream automation for renewals, and other major processes, with APEX code circa 2013.

The first thing I did lead to 60 days of deep diving into their Salesforce to try and deprecate unnecessary tech debt, and optimize their environment.

Leveraging the Salesforce Optimizer output document as a benchmark and guide I got to work on my Frankenstein’s monster of a Salesforce.
